Students attending Galbraith Elementary School, in Lethbridge, watch a student and a firefighter with the Lethbridge Fire Department demonstrate the use of a fire extinguisher. The demonstration was part of Kids’ Convention, held in late April. The convention, featuring sessions offered during the school day and into the evening, was the brainchild of teachers Kristy Nelson, Trena Benson and Luke Anderberg. Besides fire safety, students took in sessions on digital photography, musical theatre, tae kwon do, leadership, fitness and robotics. Mandatory sessions on manners, hygiene and courtesy were also offered.
